The final of the Derbyshire Sunday Senior Cup will be an all NAPIT League affair as Clowne Wanderers won the NAPIT League showdown against Inky Athletic and Doe Lea Villa eased past the highly fancied Edge Hill. For second division Wanderers reaching the final of the County’s premier Sunday Cup competition is no mean feat and for Villa a chance to add the cup to the league title they claimed a few seasons back. The Wanderers Inky game saw P Weatherall and M Nash score for Inky but goals from Carlos, Clayton, Bradley and Etheridge put Wanderers in the final. Villa’s win came by a 4-1 margin with Phil Lowry scoring twice, Pete Stubley and Craig King once.

Tibshelf Town became only the second side to avoid league defeat against runaway NAPIT first division leaders Hasland Devonshire this season on Sunday as they fought out a valiant 2-2 draw. The point could also prove crucial in their battle against relegation whilst Devonshire move a step closer to the title. Town’s scorers in the game were Bramley and Harris with Clay and Savage scoring for Devonshire. Bolsover Town proved to be too strong for New Whitt as Neil Ashley’s hat trick helped them to an emphatic 6-1 win. His fourth and best goal driven in from an acute angle gave Utd a two goal advantage but a third Wingfield goal made for a nervy end to the game. Dominic Virgillio scored twice for Chesterfield Arms against Dronfield Woodhouse but his goals were equalled by Woodhouse pair S Austin and J Sears. Hosetech also won, beating Walton 2-1.

Woodthorpe Inn produced their best performance of the season to inflict a first defeat of the 2011/12 campaign on division six leaders Hopflower Utd. Utd have drawn five of their games but were undone as B Bower, A Baston and B Goodwin scored in Woodthorpe’s  5-3 victory. A Perkins was on top form, scoring four goals, as was his Old Whitt 2011 team who beat Clowne Wanderers Reserves 6-0. Bull and Badger also hit six, against Brimington Club, N Hostead scoring three of them. Hasland Community beat Gate Inn 3-0 whilst Holmebrook Tavern and Nags Head played out a Sunday league rarity, a goal less draw.
